Each event serves as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure, and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward.

The pitching competition featured 5 exciting startups from the local area covering a variety of industries from deep tech to SaaS.

Nicola Ward, co-founder of Cakedrop says:

“We were truly overwhelmed by the feedback from the judges following our pitch at the Guildford roadshow. It was amazing to receive recognition of our successes so far and the business opportunity ahead from a panel of professional investors. We look forward to delivering our plan for the next stage of our growth.”

One of the judges, Jake Fox (South East Angels) says:

“The quality of the pitching startups was really high and we had a tough job picking a winner. CakeDrop was chosen because founder Nicola Ward delivered a clear and compelling pitch, they had shown real resilience pivoting and growing the business through its early stages, and the business showed real potential for scale in a market that is ripe for disruption.”
