Bio-tech startup wins London Startup Roadshow
After hearing from a selection of startups, the winner of the London Startup Roadshow, hosted by South East Angels, has been announced: Mitra Bio.
Mitra Bio is a bio-tech startup that has developed a non-invasive sampling process to read epigenetics data. This process allows clinicians to gather relevant data about a person’s skin without an invasive skin biopsy procedure. Mitra’s Bio unique technology in epigenetic sequencing enables them to collect a substantial amount of DNA data from a small sample - a sticker placed on the patients' arm.
Since launching in January 2023 Mitra Bio is now revenue-generating with the solution now being used in 10 clinical trials. Although the immediate opportunity is in skin sampling for clinical trials, Mitra Bio has potential to detect melanoma in skin cancer patients, as well as expand to serve the entire anti-aging skincare market.
Founders, investors, and key stakeholders from the startup ecosystem came together in London the startup event as part of the South East Startup Roadshow event series. As a champion and investor in south east startups, South East Angels is running the roadshow event series in partnership with NatWest with the aim of showcasing early-stage startups around the South East of England and building stronger connections across the regional startup community. This event served as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure, and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward.
