Labl.it wins Southampton Startup Roadshow

Following a display of impressive pitches at the Southampton startup roadshow, Labl.it has been announced as the Hampshire winner of Startup Roadshow 2024.

Founders, investors, and key stakeholders from the Hampshire startup ecosystem came together at Southampton Science Park in April 2024 for the startup event as part of the Startup Roadshow 2024 series. These events, hosted by South East Angels, aim to showcase local startups and champion the startup ecosystem around the South East. Roadshow locations include, Brighton, Southampton, Tunbridge Wells, Guildford and London, with each event serving as a platform for entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors, gain exposure, and receive valuable feedback to propel their ventures forward.

The pitching competition featured 5 early-stage startups from the local area covering a variety of industries. Winner of the event - Labl. It, is a Southampton-based startup that has developed a smart labelling device that takes away the arduous job of handwritten expiry labels in commercial kitchens. Founded in 2020, Labl.it is now being used in over 1,000 commercial kitchens across the UK.

Kristina Pereckaite (South East Angels) says:
“The quality of the pitching startups was really high and the judges had a tough job picking a winner. Labl.it was chosen because Sean (Co-founder) delivered a pitch that communicated the market opportunity clearly, and displayed the impressive traction they have had getting Labl.It into kitchens around the UK.

Sean Larsen, says:
“We’re thrilled to have won the Southampton Startup Roadshow, it was a fantastic experience with some tough competition. Wins like this go a long way to motivating the team and we really appreciate the prizes and support offered by South East Angels”.
