South East Angels Backs Myriad Wind Systems with Pre-Seed Investment
South East Angels is pleased to announce our investment in Myriad Wind Systems, a wind energy technology company.
Based in Scotland, Myriad Wind Systems has developed new technology that addresses one of the wind energy sector's most persistent challenges - delivering wind power to hard-to-access locations.
Myriad’s design allows multiple rotors to be connected on a lattice framework, and is designed in a way so that all parts can be transported and delivered via standard HGV. This system opens up a market of rural locations that now have the opportunity to generate and access clean energy, on-site.
South East Angels identified several compelling factors that drove our investment decision:
Novel IP and Technology: Myriad's proprietary technology is a unique and defensible approach to wind turbine designs.
Large Market Opportunity: Addressing the significant challenge of hard-to-access wind resources is a growing global market as energy prices and energy transitions become a focus area for energy intensive businesses.
Impressive Team: The founders not only had strong technical expertise, but commercial acumen and a plan to scale
The company's novel intellectual property and engineering approach opens up significant new opportunities in the rapidly expanding global wind energy market. This pre-seed investment will support Myriad's continued technology development, team expansion, and preparation for commercial deployment.
“Myriad Wind Systems represents exactly the type of innovative technology company we look to support - a strong team with novel IP addressing a large and growing market. Their approach to unlocking previously inaccessible wind resources could be transformative for the renewable energy sector. We're excited to support their journey as they scale this technology." - Jake Fox, Syndicate Lead, South East Angels "
"It's been a really smooth process working with SEA and their members. We're excited to deploy this funding, which will go towards developing Myriad's first commercial product, making it easier and more cost-effective to offset energy bills with wind energy." - Adam Harris, Co-Founder & CEO, Myriad Wind Systems.
