Kestrix wins Startup Roadshow Energy 2026
Kestrix, an AI platform that maps and quantifies building heat loss, has been announced as the winner of the Startup Roadshow Energy 2026. The event, the second in the Startup Roadshow 2026 series, brought together founders, investors, and key players from the energy sector.
Organised by South East Angels, the Startup Roadshow aims to showcase early-stage founders and foster growth in startup communities across various high-growth sectors. The series includes events covering Health, Energy, Fintech, Robotics, and Cyber, providing entrepreneurs with valuable opportunities to connect with investors, gain exposure, and receive constructive feedback.
The Energy event featured a competitive pitch session where five promising early-stage startups from various industries presented their ventures. Kestrix stood out among the pitches, impressing the judges with their innovative technology and clear path to market.
Kestrix is an AI-powered platform that uses thermal drone imagery, machine learning, and computer vision to create 3D maps of building heat loss and generate retrofit plans. Positioning itself as the 'Google Maps of heat loss', Kestrix addresses a critical gap in building energy efficiency by reducing energy surveying and analysis time from 2-3 hours to under one minute of surveyor time.
Unlike traditional manual surveying methods, Kestrix's proprietary AI rapidly reconstructs and interprets thermal imagery in a non-invasive way. The platform has already secured partnerships with organisations including E.ON, Islington Council, and the National Trust, helping to build a valuable dataset that will enable surveying at city-scale.
Lucy Lyons (Kestrix CEO) says:
"We're thrilled to have won the Energy Startup Roadshow and grateful for the opportunity to share how Kestrix is tackling one of the built environment's biggest challenges. The event was a fantastic platform to connect with investors and fellow founders who are passionate about innovation in the energy space.."
Jake Fox (South East Angels) says:
"Lucy delivered a compelling pitch that showcased that her team both understood the problem deeply and had the skills to develop a scalable commercial model for growth. There is a huge amount of value in capturing heat loss data at scale as the country continues its journey towards net-zero.”
