Our Group Crosses £5 Million Deployed Milestone
We've now deployed over £5 million into 39 early-stage companies, with £2M of this deployed in just the past year, making us one of the most active angel groups in the UK and a two-time UKBAA Award nominee for Angel Group of the Year.
The real story is what that capital has gone on to do. Portfolio company, ORB, has been successfully acquired, Tradeaze has doubled in value following our investment just a year ago, and multiple portfolio companies have since gone on to raise Series A rounds.
We screen over 100 investment opportunities each month, with only the top 4% presented to our 50+ members for consideration — and those members bring far more than capital to the table. As one put it, "the diverse backgrounds and expertise within the group have broadened my perspective and contributed significantly to the success of the investments we've undertaken together."
Whilst this milestone marks a great achievement for our group, our focus from day one has been on making angel investing more successful and more fulfilling for every member, through a strong process, collective leverage, and high quality deal flow access.
The community itself has become one of our strongest assets. Members who joined with little experience in early-stage investing describe it as a genuine education — "the more I attend, the more I learn" — while those with deeper track records value the quality of deal flow and the people they're doing deals alongside. "SEA was the first angel syndicate I joined and I still think one of the best," said one member who has since made multiple investments and achieved a profitable exit.
