South East Angels community comes together for Annual Portfolio Day
South East Angels recently hosted a Annual Portfolio Day 2025, bringing together the founders we've backed, our investor members, and venture capital partners for a day of collaboration and connection.
The event, powered by HSBC Innovation Banking, gave our 32 portfolio companies a platform to share their progress and challenges. We spent the day in structured breakout sessions where founders tackled real business problems with input from our members and partners who could genuinely help.
"This is our one day a year where everyone comes together," said Kristina Pereckaite, our Founder and Managing Director. "We created it to celebrate these partnerships and demonstrate how our community supports founders."
The programme included portfolio updates, followed by two rounds of breakout sessions where we rallied our network around the founders. Each session focused on specific challenges the companies are facing, with our members and partners sharing insights, making introductions, and connecting founders with the people and resources they need. We also held an HSBC Innovation Banking fireside chat on funding strategies, and wrapped up with an evening mixer bringing together our community with VCs.
Our portfolio spans sectors from space and sustainability to healthcare and B2B SaaS. Since launching in 2021, we've invested £3.8 million across these 32 companies, with 47% led by underrepresented founders. We now have 50+ investors deploying £1.5M+ annually into early-stage tech startups.
